The George Hotel, located in the centre of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is an elegant hotel built back in the Victorian period, around 1851. The George Hotel has a friendly atmosphere and it is renowned as being the birthplace of Rugby League in 1895.

Elegantly designed in ageless Yorkshire stone and originally part of the Outlane Golf Club, the hotel is surrounded by 3 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. The interior of the hotel encaptures the atmosphere of decades gone by, whilst the restaurant has an excellent reputation for its food and service.

Built in 1870 as a Victorian gentleman's family home, the Durker Roods were converted into a hotel in 1975. It quickly established an excellent reputation for the warmth of its welcome and as a stylish venue for weddings, celebrations and conferences.
